Ok so here's the deal. We were all set to have a full on Wedding DJs throw-down this coming Friday night until we ended up in the emergency room after our last party in Pretoria. Let's just say the party ended up rocking us.

So this coming Friday we have one Wedding DJ with a fractured arm and the other a broken tooth and a stitched up lip. But as we say in the Wedding business, the show must go on so the line up for Friday night is as follow:

We just finished our Gauteng flats tour with Die Antwoord. Heavy next-level rap rave crew from the Cape of Good Rave. On Thursday night we klapped Gin with a 4 hour set featuring Ninja and Yo-landi freestylin on the mic. Saturday we hit The Woods where the larney crowd raved off their faces to dik beats. What time is love I ask you. But the mallest of all had to be Tings on Saturday. Stage diving, flexing with an awesome crowd and mal raps by Ninja and the Rich Bitch. Kykie kykie... Karate Kid Part II, Gremlins 2, Back to the Future II, Nightmare on Elm Street Pt 2: Freddy's Revenge, Rocky II, Rambo first blood Part 2, Ghostbusters 2 etc. Why don't they make sequels anymore? Titanic 2: Revenge of the Band, Gangs of NY: more gangs pt 2, Slumdog Billionaire?

Anyway we digress. We felt it was time to do a sequel of the very first LBs party we ever had. The Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner party.

So get ready it's about to get heavy. We're gonna have 3 bars! So you can get completely smashed by drinking x3 times as much. There won't be a dry mouth left in the house.

We're also gonna have a strict doorman to watch the numbers - think Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse. So if you want to get in get there early or be prepared to qeue.

With spring finally goose stepping its way out of winter's clutches, we look to the vibrant shores of Puerto Rica for the theme of our next party. We're taking our inspiration from Menudo! A little-known boy band starring a little known artist called Ricky Martin. Vests, sweatbands, a technicolour extravaganza! And for the girls I hear you say? Colour is the new black, white body stockings, bubbles, banana clips and coloured hot pant jeans! Last Friday night we had a HUGE ram jam to celebrate Galina's 21st birthday. It rocked to say the least. Shot to the girls from Black Betty, Skipper Glen and Joburg for plying us with drinks all night long. And thanks for the lovely snacks Mrs Galina and for getting down to our set!

Last Friday night was also our last private party, it's been grand but we've decided to use the force of the 80s and focus all our energy on our wedding receptions from now on.

Next week is Valentines Day and love changes changes everything. That's why we decided to spring a secret gig on you. That's right a secret gig, so you can't tell anyone. It's more than a gig, let's call it a wedding reception. Thanks to Smirnoff you will be able to actually get married next week, on Valentines Day, at the chapel of love that is Pretoria (next to Joburg), and the reception is upstairs at L/B's Lounge (or is that Midrand?) free of charge.

A massive thank you to everyone who rocked up at the NYE gig. We spotted some fantastic outfits, not to mention dance moves! Congrats to Liani who won a year's supply of beer (thanks to our generous host Bruce Gordon) in our Footloose dance-off competition. Liani danced her little ass off, to beat all the other contestants and most of her friends, to a free case of beer every month for the whole 2007. What a way to start the New Year. Wow... is all we can say. Shot for a HUGE knees-up on Saturday evening! We even had two celebrities in the house, non other than Brenda Fassie and Adam Ant (or was that Allan Donald)? Anyway the Huisgenoot was there to write about it in Mense en Hulle Dinge. It was Sarah's birthday (who's Sarah?). We had a German male stripper and a German DJ making a guest appearance. On Friday, 13 October we started with drinks at Joburg in search of a venue for my birthday. With a little help from our friends we stumbled upon LB's, 222 Long Street, upstairs from Joburg. Overjoyed with the find Peet suggested we have an impromptu party right there and then. People came out of the woordwork and we finally walked out at 4am. Bruce suggested we do it again so now we had a birthday venue and a residency.

We were asked to play at the final year function of UWC's Law Faculty. After we felt our way through the latest Hip Hop and R&B it was the local house that really got the party started. Students even wanted to get their picture taken with us!

First off, we're not DJs, we're just two guys that like music. We can't mix for shit, in fact when we do get a mix right we're so amazed that we usually screw up the next tune. The Wedding DJs is a way of life, it's a movement. It's a drunken Jean-Claude van Damme dancing in Kickboxer, it's the feeling you get when Kevin Bacon fights for his right to dance in Footloose. There are times when we can make love out of nothing at all and times when we can take you right into the danger zone. Call it Fame call it Grease, call it what you will, we're all just islands in the stream.

What to expect at a Wedding DJs gig?
You can expect the kind of music you normally hear at a wedding reception. Lots of feelgood 70's and 80s music (extra dose of 80s) and a lot of 90s music and some selected songs from the new Willennium. Generally anything goes as long as it feels good.
